Gartner: Apple iPhone is fine for corporate
Market Research Company Gartner had earlier said that Apple iPhone was not a suitable device for the corporate environment.
However, things have changed and Apple is now working on making the device attractive to business customers.
Gartner too have now changed their stance. They are now recommending the iPhone for business.
Gartner said in its statement that the changes being introduced by Apple would make iPhone a capable rival to existing products in the market like Blackberry, Windows Mobile and Symbian based phones.
Gartner analyst Ken Dulaney had this to say: “In its initial release, the iPhone was, with few exceptions, an Internet tablet with browser-based applications as its main offering, however, the release of firmware 2.0 changes that, enabling enterprises to develop local code and create applications that do not depend on network capabilities. The iPhone will thus match up initially in several segments against its main Smartphone competitors — BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, and Symbian Series 60.”
