Sony charges USD 49.99 to remove bloatware from its machines
Market sources are claiming that Sony has launched a new offer for buyers of their Vaio TZ2000 and Vaio TZ2500 laptops.
The customer now has an option to ask for his machine delivered with no bloatware. The option has been named Fresh Start and it would cost the customer USD 49.99.
Even more amazing is the fact that the customer would also require to upgrade to Windows Vista Business from the Windows Vista Home Premium to avail this option. This upgrade costs an additional USD 100.
Most PC manufacturers bundle a variety of applications along with the OS. They are paid by the software companies to do this. Dell is one of the major PC vendors who have publicly stated that they are working on offering bloatware free machines to their customers.
