Sony removes bloatware cleaning fee from Vaio models
The power of people on the internet has shown impressive results yet again.
After the controversy over the fees Sony apparently charged to deliver their Vaio machine to customers without any bloatware on it, the company has now announced their decision to remove it.
Sony said that they are now going to provide the Fresh Start software optimization feature as a free service.
The company was charging around USD 50 to remove the bloatware applications from their Vaio TZ2000 and Vaio TZ2500 notebook models.
Sony said: “We want Vaio users to have the best experience possible with our PCs, and we believe Fresh Start will help ensure that happens right out-of-the-box.”
These applications are usually shipped with the machine as part of the deal between the manufacturer and the software companies. PC makers are paid for each machine which is delivered to the customer bundled with the trial applications.
