Sony Pictures Home Entertainment to launch new generation Blu-Ray discs next month
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has revealed that they would launch their next generation Blu-Ray discs on April 8.
These titles would support the capability to connect to the internet to download bonus materials and features.
Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story and The 6th Day would be the first two Blu-Ray titles to support the new features.
Sony is also scheduled to release the next firmware update for the Playstation 3 console around the same time which would support this new feature.
This ability is known as the Blu-Ray Profile 2.0. Hardware manufacturers are also working on launching new Blu-Ray players in the market to support this new feature.
