Maruti says it again: No price drop due to Tata Nano
Maruti Suzuki India is the dominating automaker in the Indian market. The company is the largest seller of compact cars in India.
However, their domination is now under a threat from the upcoming Tata Nano model from Tata Motors.
This small car is likely to be priced at Rs. 1 to 1.5 Lakhs. This would put tremendous pressure on Maruti models like the Maruti 800.
The company has now repeated that they are not planning to drop the price of the Maruti 800 to counter the attack from Tata Nano.
Maruti Suzuki India managing executive officer (production) M M Singh said in a statement: “We will not cut the price of Maruti 800. We are waiting to see how the market responds to the Nano.”
