Verizon Wireless now offering Loopt service to subscribers
Verizon Wireless has announced that they are now going to offer services provided by social mapping provider Loopt to their subscribers.
The service enables the user to find out the whereabouts of friends and relatives. It uses GPS functionality present on the mobile device.
The company said that this new feature would be available to users of more than 20 Verizon mobile phones which have GPS functionality.
Sam Altman, CEO and co-founder of Loopt spoke about this new service: “Location is the redefining element of mobile communication and the consumer experience. Location interoperability and accessibility is the gateway that extends the reach, value, and power of mobile devices for all consumers.”
