Cubans would now be able to purchase mobile phones
The Cuban government said that they are now going to allow the people in the country to buy and use mobile telephones.
This is one of the major steps taken by new President Raul Castro to remove the restrictions on common goods.
The ability to buy and mobile phones was till now limited to foreigners or government officials and employees.
Cuban telecommunications monopoly ETECSA said in a statement: “ETECSA is able to offer mobile phone service to the public.”
