Yahoo! Shine destination for women between ages 25 and 54
Internet media giant Yahoo has announced the launch of their new web based destination named Shine.
The company said that this new online portal is targeted at women between ages 25 and 54.
This segment of the online market is currently underserved by their existing services and tools.
Amy Iorio, vice president for Yahoo Lifestyles said in a statement on this new launch: “These women were sort of caretakers for everybody in their lives. They didn’t feel like there was a place that was looking at the whole them — as a parent, as a spouse, as a daughter. They were looking for one place that gave them everything.”
With this, Yahoo is entering into a direct competition with Glam Media Inc. and iVillage.
