Sony Pictures Television goes mobile
Sony Pictures Television has announced that they are now going to launch the first movie network on mobile phones in the US market.
They are working with AT&T and MediaFLO USA to launch their mobile channel on their mobile TV service.
They would provide content for one of the two exclusive channels coming to the newly announced AT&T Mobile TV with FLO.
The company said that this channel would be named PIX and it would broadcast blockbuster movies like “Ghostbusters,” “Philadelphia” and “Stand by Me.”
Eric Berger, VP mobile entertainment at Sony Pictures Television added: “What you see a lot on the carrier decks is promotional content that people can snack a little on. There’s nothing currently there as deeply entertaining as these movies.”
