Intel launches five new Atom microprocessors
Microprocessor industry giant Intel has announced the launch of five new Atom microprocessors.
These chips are now available in speeds of up to 1.86 gigahertz. The company said that this makes them the fastest chips available in the market which consumes 3 watts of electricity or less.
These processors are designed for portable computing devices. Intel said that these would soon be powering a variety of mobile Internet devices.
Company representative Anand Chandrasekher spoke about these new chips: “Global Internet growth continues unabated. The best Internet experience is still on the PC, but users want to carry that experience with them.”
