Motorola showcases Smart Rider mobile device
Motorola might be separating their mobile phone business from their core operations but they continue to work on new products.
The company showcased their “Smart Rider” phone at the CTIA Wireless 2008. This mobile device features GPS navigation, interactive voice activation, and Bluetooth.
Motorola said that the phone is based on GSM technology and would offer various GPS services including turn-by-turn navigation and voice-guided driving instructions in addition to precise on-screen directions and detailed maps on a 2.8-inches high-resolution color display; real-time traffic reports and automatic re-routing; and enabling of location-based services (LBS) and fleet management applications.
They aim to start selling the device in the market by June this year. No pricing point was revealed.
