Sprint Xohm WiMax Launch Delayed
Sprint has now said that they are delaying the commercial launch of their much awaited Xohm-branded mobile Internet service.
A soft launch of the service is already underway in some locations including Chicago, Baltimore and Washington, D.C.
The company said that the delay is primarily to improve the backhaul side of the network.
A Sprint representative said: “You need a lot of backhaul capacity to do what’s required for WiMax.”
Sprint added that this delay would give them the much needed time to host its Xohm Application Developer Program.
