Sun announces Project Caroline internet services
Sun has announced their latest research project codenamed Project Caroline aimed to provide internet services.
The company said that this platform is based on the platform-as-a-service model. It would provide a hosted platform for Internet services.
John McClain, a Sun senior staff engineer working on Project Caroline added in a statement: “In the future, all applications will tie back to Sun servers running on the Internet. In many cases perhaps most cases, the entire application will in fact be an Internet service.”
The company added that this project meets a need for deployment of horizontally scaled services and enabling developers to get their services running.
