Six Apart launches Blog It application on Facebook
Six Apart is the company behind the popular blogging tools Movable Type and TypePad.
The company has now introduced their blogging tool named Blog IT on the Facebook social network.
This tool enables the users to post blog posts from within Facebook.
The tool supports various blogging applications including Blogger, TypePad, Twitter, Movable Type, Vox, and WordPress.
When the user posts a new blog post using this tool, a summary is automatically included in the Facebook newsfeed.
User can also post these feeds to other web services including Pownce and Twitter.
David Recordon, Open Platforms Tech Lead at Six Apart spoke about this new app: “Blog It is one of the few applications that takes content created inside Facebook and makes it available for use outside Facebook. Blog It users are able to update their personal blogs, business blogs, online journals, Facebook status, or Twitter or Pownce activity all from one central environment. This is a concrete step away from the silos and walled gardens of the past and toward the open web of the future.”
