eBay considering selling off Skype
John Donahoe CEO of eBay has been quoted as saying that the company is considering selling off their Skype division if they fail to find a user for it to support their core e-commerce business.
Ebay had paid around USD 3.1 billion for Skype and later on went to wrote down the value of the business by $1.4 billion last year.
The online shopping giant had originally hoped that the service would help generate better communications between the seller and the buyer on eBay.
However, they have till now failed to find much use for it in relation to their core business of online auctions.
