Encyclopædia Britannica now free for online publishers
Encyclopædia Britannica Online has announced that they are now giving free access to their online edition to web publishers.
They have put certain limitations on who can get free access to their database of information. The service states:
If you’re a Web publisher—a blogger, webmaster, or writer—you can get complimentary access to the complete Encyclopædia Britannica online. It’s a rich trove of reliable and high-quality information that you can use to check quick facts, research topics in depth, or just read to enjoy.
Wikipedia is one of the major challengers to Britannica on the web. The user generated encyclopedia might not be considered the most accurate destination to gather information but the popularity of Wikipedia remains unmatched.
