Intel lower prices of several processor models
Intel has surprised market experts by announcing a price cut on several of their processor models.
The price of the Q6700 Core 2 Quad processor has been reduced to almost half. Prices of some other models have been reduced by as much as 30%.
Intel Q6700 is now priced at around $266, down from $530. The Xeon edition X3230 processor is now priced at $266.
Intel E6850 prices have been reduced from $266 to $183.
Intel spokesman Dan Snyder spoke about this surprise price cut on their products: “We continue to provide greater value to users over time, as we’ve been doing for many years. Also, 45nm continues to ramp at a rapid pace, with shipment cross over sometime in Q3′08.”
