RIM Blackberry Meteor rumored to be delayed
Market sources are claiming that the much talked about Meteor 3G edition of Blackberry Smartphone is now delayed.
This report published by Fortune.com resulted in company’s stock taking a beating at the stock exchange.
Fortune Magazine said in the report that the launch is now delayed from June to August.
RIM spokesperson Marisa Conway declined to confirm anything about this market rumor: “RIM’s policy is to decline comment on rumors and speculation.”
AT&T’s Chief Financial Officer Rick Lindner was recently quoted as saying about future 3G products: “We’re just starting to see a BlackBerry 3G come out. As those integrated devices move to 3G, I think that will be the next catalyst to drive stronger 3G growth. New customers coming in today, if they are buying a phone, many times, particularly postpaid customers, they’re primarily going to 3G.”
Apple is also rumored to be closing in on launching their iPhone 3G edition sometime in the coming months.
