Radiohead to not offer free songs in the future

Radiohead has announced that they are not planning to release any more songs for free in the future.

The band made big news online when they made available their music online allowing fans to pay an amount they wished to pay for the song.

Thom Yorke spoke about their decision: “I think it was a one-off response to a particular situation. Yes. It was a one-off in terms of a story. It was one of those things where we were in the position of everyone asking us what we were going to do. I don’t think it would have the same significance now anyway, if we chose to give something away again. It was a moment in time.”

The decision to make available their song online was made after they walked away from their deal with EMI Music Company.

The band has also not revealed whether they consider the experiment a success.
