Jerry Yang took USD 1 as salary as CEO of Yahoo

Internet media giant Yahoo has revealed that they paid their CEO and co-founder just USD 1 as a token salary last year.

He has been taking home the same official pay since the last couple of years.

He also did not receive any bonus, stock options or any other rewards to supplement his $1 salary during the period which saw Yahoo struggle resulting in earnings going down by around 12 percent.

The company is currently facing a hostile takeover attempt from old rival Microsoft.

Yang currently owns a 3.9 percent stake in Yahoo which is currently worth around $1.5 billion.
