AT&T could cut iPhone price by USD 200 on iPhone 3G launch
Market sources say that the US based telecom company AT&T is considering plans to cut the price of the first generation iPhone by around USD 200 once Apple launches the 3G edition of the popular device.
Apple is expected to launch this second generation model sometime later this year.
AT&T as per sources is preparing to cut the price of the base model to just around USD 199 for customers signing up a 2 year long contract.
Sources also say that the 3G iPhone would come in two capacities (8 GB and 16 GB). The prices are expected to remain competitive at USD 399 and USD 499.
If this indeed happens, a lot more customers would be able to afford this mobile phone which also works as a media player along with an internet device.
