Microsoft: We can do it without Yahoo
Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has said that the company has the ability to take on Google even if they do not end up acquiring Yahoo.
Microsoft’s bid has been rejected by the internet media giant and they are now working on their next step.
The company has three options: friendly takeover, hostile takeover, move away from the deal.
First option is as good as dead unless they raise the value of their bid.
Ballmer spoke about the possibility of a deal with Yahoo: “With the right circumstances it’ll happen. Without the right circumstances it won’t happen.”
Market sources say that Yahoo is close to announce their own deal with Google which would be non exclusive. That deal might give Yahoo enough ammo to keep Microsoft away from their territory.
