Space Shuttle Discovery scheduled for May end mission
NASA has stated that the space shuttle Discovery has now reached Cape Canaveral, Florida for its scheduled launch later this month.
They are planning to launch the next mission on May 31. This mission would carry a huge Japanese research complex to the International Space Station.
The US space agency is now planning to hold a practice launch countdown with the seven-member crew next week.
This would be the third mission of the Space Shuttle this year. NASA aims to complete five missions in 2008.
They still have to make at least 10 more missions to complete the $100 billion space station. Their Space Shuttle fleet is currently scheduled to retire in 2010 and they do not have a replacement vehicle prepared yet.
