Reports: Microsoft withdraws their offer for Yahoo

Rumors in the market suggest that Microsoft has now withdrawn their offer to acquire the internet media giant Yahoo.

The source said that the company had raised their offer by $5 billion to $33 a share.

Yahoo did not accept it and demanded somewhere near $37 a share.

Microsoft at that point gave up their pursuit and has now withdrawn their offer.

No official words out yet. But this could be the news of the month.

It would be interesting to see what happens to Yahoo stock now. The actions taken by their investors would also be worth watching.
