Universal Music Group collaborates with Qtrax
Universal Music Group has now announced that they are now collaborating with Qtrax for free legal music downloads.
Qtrax made news earlier this year when they announced that they were launching a new service to distribute music free online. The company claimed that the content would be made available from major music labels and they would generate revenues from ads.
The service launch was delayed after the music companies came out in public denying entering into any such deal with Qtrax.
UMG spokesman Peter Lofrumento confirmed the deal. Qtrax spokeswoman Shamin Abas added: “All of UMG’s music available digitally will be available for free, legal downloads on Qtrax.”
