Apple and HBO bring new shows to Apple iTunes
Apple has announced their new deal with HBO to bring their programming on the Apple iTunes digital media store.
The two companies said that the shows to be offered on the iTunes would include Emmy Award-winning programs The Sopranos, Sex and the City, Deadwood and Rome.
Eddy Cue, Apple’s vice president of iTunes added: “We’re thrilled to bring this incredible lineup of programming from HBO to the iTunes Store. These are some of the most talked-about television shows ever, as well as some of the most requested by our customers.”
These downloadable shows are compatible with several platforms including Windows, Macs, all video capable iPods, iPhone and Apple TV.
Users would be able to order a single episode or an entire season of a show from the Apple iTunes.
This is also the first time that Apple is offering the television shows on Apple iTunes with variable pricing. Some show episodes are priced at USD 1.99 per episode while others are priced at USD 2.99 per episode.
