O2 and Apple set to make a joint announcement soon
Telefonica’s O2 has announced that they are soon going to make a joint announcement with US based company Apple.
Market analysts say that this could be a sign that the Apple would be launching the second generation iPhone.
O2 holds the right to sell the iPhone in Ireland and Britain. They have been offering the iPhone for heavy discounts since the last couple of days.
Analysts say that the discounted price could be just to clear the stock of the first generation model as the two companies work on launching the iPhone 3G.
Matthew Key, chief executive of Telefonica O2 Europe said in a statement: “It is broadly known we are now out of stock of the 8 gigabyte and we have got some 16 gigabytes left.”
