Google now blurring faces on Street View
Search engine giant Google has revealed that they are now using a new technology to blur the faces of people on their Street View service.
It would however take them some months to implement this change throughout the entire database.
The company said in a blog post that they have now begun deploying a facial-recognition algorithm that finds out faces in photos and blur them.
They are testing the technology on images from New York before implementing them in other cities.
EFF spokesperson Rebecca Jeschke spoke about this new development: “it’s just a shame it didn’t happen before the tool launched.”
