Comcast acquiring Plaxo
Comcast has announced that they are now acquiring contact management company Plaxo.
They would now integrate their services into their own products to help customers synchronize their address books and connect socially online.
The company added that the acquisition would help them add social networking abilities on their Comcast.net, Fancast.com and Fandango.com Web Services.
Sam Schwartz, executive vice president of Comcast Interactive Media added: “We think the combination of Plaxo and Comcast together can supercharge both of our products. Comcast is looking at Plaxo to become the social media backbone of its products.”
Plaxo Chief Executive Ben Golub said on the new developments: “Right now on Plaxo you have a lot of people who are sharing photos. On Comcast, you … also share them with your grandmother when she turns on the TV.”
