Orange to sell iPhone in more European, Middle East and African countries
France Telecom’s Orange division has announced their latest deal with Apple.
Orange would now be offering the Apple iPhone in several markets including Austria, Belgium, the Dominican Republic, Egypt, Jordan, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Switzerland, Ivory Coast, Jordan, Cameroon, Botswana, Madagascar, Mali, Senegal and Mauritius.
This new development has now increased the number of markets where the iPhone would sell through non-exclusive deals.
The new deal with Apple gives Orange exclusive rights to sell the iPhone in Belgium and Romania.
Apple has been very active signing on new deals for the iPhone for lots of new markets around the world.
This is interesting as the company is expected to launch their second generation iPhone in the coming weeks. The new iPhone could be offered in the advanced markets while the smaller markets could get the first generation model.
Apple is aiming to sell at least 10 million units of the iPhone within this year.
