XO Laptop to offer Windows OS option
Software giant Microsoft is finally collaborating with the One Laptop Per Child Foundation and would be providing a version of their Windows operating system that would run on the XO Laptop.
The 100 dollar laptop was originally designed to run only the open source Linux operating system.
This device is aimed at school going students to help them in their studies.
OLPC and Microsoft have been in talks since quite some time on a possible collaboration and Microsoft has finally become a member of the foundation.
The company said that they would soon begin trials of Windows on the low-cost laptop in key emerging markets.
Customers would be able to pick their machine with either Linux or Windows OS.
