Sprint all set to launch WiMax network later this year
US based Telecom Company Sprint has said that their tests with Samsung related to WiMax have passed key speed and mobility hurdles.
They are now all set to launch this network by the end of the current year.
Sprint is going to provide the spectrum to Clearwire which would work with several partners including Sprint to offer WiMax services in the US market.
Xohm president Barry West spoke about their experience: “The collaboration with Samsung and our other partners has created a WiMax ecosystem that has now proven that it can deliver this new technology to the marketplace well ahead of any feasible alternative. This is a major step towards launch readiness.”
Covad Wireless is another company which has been testing the technology and would launch their network this year.
