Microsoft Zune: No longer wanted at GameStop
US based retailing company GameStop has announced that they are no longer going to offer the Microsoft Zune digital media player on sale.
Apparently the demand for this player is so low that the retailer no longer wants to waste shelf space on it.
Apple iPod continues to remain the best selling digital media player in the market and Microsoft has failed miserably in their attempt to challenge it.
A company representative was quoted as saying: “We have decided to exit the Zune category because it just did not have the appeal we had anticipated”.
He added: “It did not fit with our product mix”.
Microsoft recently said that they have sold more than 2 million units of the player in the market since its launch. Apple sells more than 10 million iPods in a quarter in comparison.
