Microsoft continues to claim that Zune is doing well
Microsoft’s Zune might be the laughing stock on the internet discussion forums due to its poor performance in the retail market when compared to the Apple iPod, but the company remains optimistic.
The poor performance of Zune in the market was highlighted when retailing chain GameStop announced that they would no longer offer this player on sale.
Microsoft has now responded in a statement: “We have a set of great retail partnerships that give Zune a strong presence at retail including Best Buy, Target, Wal-Mart, and others. We will continue to invest in deep retail partnerships, and have seen good momentum online and at retail over the last few months including a great response to our recent spring update.”
GameStop had said in a statement: “We have decided to exit the Zune category because it just did not have the appeal we had anticipated.”
