IDC: Apple iPhone has a 19 percent market share in USA (Smartphones)
Market research firm IDC has reported that Apple iPhone’s market share in the Smartphones category in the US is at around 19 percent.
iPhone’s market share was down in the first three months of the year compared to the last quarter of 2007.
Most of it was taken away by Research in Motion who makes a good improvement with their Blackberry platform.
IDC said that RIM has successfully managed to attract regular customers with a wide variety of consumer mobile devices.
They are already hugely popular amongst the corporate users.
Apple could make much improvement in the coming months if the rumors of the second generation iPhones are true.
