Carl Icahn gets permission to buy Yahoo shares
FTC has now granted permission to billionaire investor Carl Icahn to purchase more shares of the internet media giant Yahoo.
Icahn is said to be interested in acquiring another $1.5 billion worth of shares.
He is already fighting a battle with the company to replace the board of members with his own panel.
Icahn has said that he wants Yahoo to resume acquisition talks with Microsoft as it is the best deal for their investors.
He has already spent more than $1 billion to buy 59 million Yahoo shares.
Incidentally, Microsoft and Yahoo are already back in talks but they are not discussing a total acquisition. Reports claim that Microsoft wants a collaborative deal connected to Yahoo Search.
