Space shuttle Discovery launches with Kibo laboratory

NASA has successfully launched the Space Shuttle Discovery on its latest mission.

Discovery is carrying the Japanese lab named Kibo for installation on the International Space Station.

The crew onboard is scheduled to unload and install the $1 billion lab. They would also deliver other essential spare parts.

NASA’s launch director, Mike Leinbach spoke at the launch: “It’s a gorgeous day to launch. Now stand by for the greatest show on Earth!”

NASA has previously delivered the first part of the lab to the ISS earlier this year. The final part would be sent on another mission later this year.
