Dell working on a mini-Inspiron to take on low cost laptops

Engadget is reporting about a new laptop product from Dell which seems to be codenamed Mini Inspiron.

This would be Dell’s answer to the low cost laptops segment which is getting hotter by the day.

Asus launched the EEE PC, MSI is working on Wind, HP has announced their Mini-Note.

Dell’s answer to this competition is likely to be priced below USD 500 for this machine with an 8.9-inch screen. These machines would be offered with either Windows XP Home edition of Linux.
