Nvidia announces Tegra chips for portable computing machines
Graphic card manufacturer Nvidia has announced their latest processor line-up targeted at the new generation of portable computing devices.
The company launched Tegra 600 and Tegra 650 processors which are designed for highly portable, visual devices.
With this they are taking on the microprocessor industry giant Intel which is also focused on this segment of the market.
Nvidia said that this chip is perfect for the new generation of devices popularly called mobile internet devices.
These Tegra chips comes loaded with an ARM 11 central processing unit core, a graphics processing unit, a media processor, system memory and other components.
Mike Rayfield, general manager of Nvidia’s mobile business spoke about these new chips: “By the end of the week, we’ll see people talking about the fact that they’re designing products around this technology. All the initial products will come out of Taiwan; they’re the fastest to market.”
