Tsutaya launches on demand HD downloads
Japan’s top film rental chain Tsutaya has announced the launch of their new digital service.
The company is now making available an on demand high definition video download service.
This would enable Japanese customers to get their desired movies without going out to a rental store.
They are launching the service today and are offering popular American shows including Heroes, Lost and Desperate Housewives.
The company said that customer would have 2 days to watch the ordered title. It would be viewable through Actvila.
They are planning to expand their offerings to more than 2000 titles by the end of the current year. Deals with major media companies Paramount, Warner Brothers, Walt Disney and NBC Universal are expected.
