T-Mobile USA sues Starbucks for their deal with AT&T
T-Mobile USA has announced that they are suing Starbucks over their deal with AT&T.
T-Mobile claims that Starbucks went ahead and signed a deal with AT&T while they are still in an exclusive contract with them.
The lawsuit has been filed in the New York state. They are asking the courts for unspecified damages against Starbucks for breach of its contract and unfair competition.
T-Mobile says in the lawsuit: “T-Mobile had made a very significant investment in the technology and equipment necessary to provide Wi-Fi service in the many thousands of Starbucks stores in the United States.”
Starbucks spokeswoman Stacey Krum responded in a statement: “Our goal is to ensure Wi-Fi access at all Starbucks locations. This is a benefit offered to our Starbucks Card Rewards members as well as AT&T subscribers and steps are being taken to ensure that this access continues.”
