Sprint Nextel to launch QChat technology in 40 markets
US based telecom service provider Sprint Nextel has announced that they would be launching a new service in 40 markets powered by Qualcomm QChat technology.
This service enables the mobile users to talk to each other by pressing a button on the phone. No dialing is required.
They have been working with Qualcomm to implement this technology on their network ever since Sprint merged with Nextel.
A similar service was provided by Nextel to their customers.
The implementation of QChat would enable Sprint to move Nextel customers to their own network.
The fees for this new service start at $49.99 a month. Sprint said that it would work with four of their current handsets: Sanyo PRO-200, Sanyo PRO-700, LG LX400 and Samsung Z400.
