Jeff Weiner leaves Yahoo for venture firm
Accel Partners and Greylock Partners has revealed that a top Yahoo executive Jeff Weiner is leaving the internet media giant to join them.
He would join the two firms as an executive in residence.
His new position would be applicable from September this year.
With this Weiner has now become the latest top level Yahoo executive to leave the company as it struggles to compete in the search and advertising market.
Yahoo has successfully managed to avoid getting acquired by Microsoft. They are now in a long term deal with Google over serving their ads on the Yahoo Search result pages.
They are also facing intense pressure from investor Carl Icahn who wants to replace the company board.
