China allows 247 companies to provide online video-sharing services
The Chinese government has now given permissions to around 250 companies to provide video sharing services online.
This comes after they had order some of the existing service providers to stop these services.
The list contains a lot of state owned media companies like Xinhua news agency, People’s Daily and China Central Television.
China has also given permissions to a couple of domestic internet companies like Sina.com, Sohu.com Inc, NetEase and Tencent Holdings to provide these services.
One major exception is Tudou.com which is not on this list.
