Sugar Labs Foundation to develop Sugar interface for Intel Classmate PC
Microprocessor giant Intel is now collaborating with Sugar Labs Foundation.
The two companies are now going to develop a version of Sugar for the Intel Classmate PC.
Sugar is the user interface originally designed for the OLPC’s XO laptop.
Walter Bender, a founder of Sugar Labs spoke about their deal with Intel: “A community volunteer is working with Intel on Sugar for the Classmate PC. Sugar Labs helped to expedite the relationship.”
Intel’s Classmate PC has become one of the most potent challengers to OLPC project which is aimed to provide cheap computers to kids in developing nations.
