Toyota working on four compact cars for India?
Market sources say that the Japanese automaker Toyota is working on as many as four compact car models for the Indian market.
These cars are going to be powered with 1.1 liter and 1.3 liter engines.
The first new model from the company is likely to be a petrol sedan with a 1.3-litre engine. It would compete in the segment consisting of Suzuki Dzire, Ford Fiesta and Hyundai Verna.
A hatchback model is also being prepared to take on Hyundai Getz and Suzuki Swift.
Sources further reveal that Toyota is also working on a diesel version of their existing Corolla model.
Toyota Fortuner SUV is also rumored to be coming to the Indian market.
