Blyk set to enter Germany, Spain and Belgium
Blyk is the world’s first advertising-funded mobile telecoms operator and they are all set to enter three big European mobile markets: Germany, Spain and Belgium.
The company offers a number of free calls and text messages to their customers if they accept advertisements from their clients.
They are currently offering their services in the UK market and are also going to enter Netherlands.
Blyk said that in UK alone, they have signed on more than 100,000 youngsters. These customers are getting 217 texts and 43 minutes of voice calls per month in return of receiving up to six texts a day from advertisers.
Blyk’s co-founder and chairman, Pekka Ala-Pietila spoke about their plans for other markets: “The offer is seen as very attractive and as a proof we reached 100,000 clients six months ahead of our plans.”
