AMD launches new quad-core Phenom X4 processors

Microprocessor maker AMD has announced three new quad-core Phenom X4 processors.

These are: 2.6 GHz AMD Phenom X4 9950 Black Edition, 2.0 GHz AMD Phenom X4 9350e and 1.8 GHz AMD Phenom X4 9150e.

The 2.6-GHz AMD Phenom X4 9950 Black Edition processor is a high end version targeted at gamers and power users.

The other two processors are for users who want a power efficient solution for their machines.

AMD added in a statement on these new processors: “These processors, under the most extreme operation, consume no more than 65 watts, delivering the performance of four independent cores at a low wattage.”
