Toyota Prius to get solar panels?
Nikkei business daily has reported that automaker Toyota is considering plans to add solar panels to the roof of their next-generation Prius model.
The power generated by these panels would be used for air-conditioning.
The report said that these panels could be added to the higher end models of the next generation Prius.
Toyota has not confirmed these reports.
Prius is one of the best selling hybrids in the world. It was also the world’s first mass-produced gasoline-electric hybrid car.
Toyota has been selling it in the markets since 1997 and it has since then sold more than 1 million units worldwide.
