Yahoo launches Build Your Own Search (BOSS)
Internet media giant Yahoo has become the talk of the town with Microsoft’s attempt to acquire the company.
Yahoo continues to work hard to make sure that they can fight it out and they have now launched their latest service named Build your Own Search Service.
The company said that this service enables a user to assemble a search engine using their technology to index the web.
They believe that it would attract a lot of developers as it gives them resources worth more than couple of hundred millions.
Yahoo would require the developers to run their ads along with the search result pages generated through this service.
Hakia and Me.dium are two companies who have already joined this program.
Yahoo has a search advertising deal with Google which displays the latter’s ads on search pages in USA and Canada.
Yahoo has clarified that Google would not be providing any search ads on the deals on Yahoo BOSS program.
